Cardno (Qld) Pty Ltd, on behalf of Lend Lease Developments Pty Ltd has applied for a development permit for Operational Works (Engineering Works Roads and Drainage and Extraction, Excavation and Filling). The application is in fact for the construction of six golf holes on the western part of Hyatt Regency Coolum property. The public notification phase ended on 4 August 2006. Development Watch Inc objected to this application on procedural and environmental grounds. |

Sunshine Coast Airport Master Plan (draft report).
Maroochy Shire Council recently appointed a firm of consultants to assist in the preparation of a draft Master Plan for the Sunshine Coast Airport. The resultant report has been the subject of considerable public scrutiny for the last two months. Development Watch believes that the expansion of the airport runways that are proposed are unsubstantiated and unnecessary. Public submissions on the draft proposal closed on 14th August, 2006. |

11 August 2006 - Hyatt Regency Coolum Master Plan and Subdivision Applications Lend Lease Development Pty Ltd has applied for Preliminary Approval for Material Change of Use and for Reconfiguration of a Lot on land at Hyatt Regency Coolum. The applications are in fact for approval to override the Maroochy Shire Planning Scheme and thus obtain approval for a Master Plan to change the Hyatt property into a primarily residential suburb . Lend Lease seeks approval for 660 dwellings to be housed in buildings from two to six storeys. Amongst other things, the proposal will require the relocation of all golf holes on the eastern side of David Low Way to the western side. The public notification phase ended on 11 August 2006. Development Watch Inc objected to this application on social, economic, environmental and procedural grounds. |

Solid Earth Pty Ltd has applied for a Preliminary Approval for Material Change of Use for land on South Coolum Road, Coolum Beach. The application describes a commercial/industrial development on flood-prone land at the western entrance to Coolum Beach. Development Watch has objected to this proposal in its entirety because it is not environmentally sound, is socially unacceptable and is not in the best economic interests of Coolum Beach. |

Development Watch objected to this application because the proposed locations are inappropriate for such signs. |

Development Watch supported this proposal in principle but had some concerns about its implementation. |
