Lend Lease Development Pty Ltd has applied for “Preliminary Approval for Material Change of Use” and for “Reconfiguration of a Lot” on land at Hyatt Regency Coolum. The applications are in fact for approval to override the Maroochy Shire Planning Scheme and thus obtain approval for a Master Plan to change the Hyatt property into a primarily residential 
suburb.
Lend Lease seeks approval for 660 dwellings to be housed in buildings from two to six storeys. Amongst other things, the proposal will require the relocation of all golf holes on the eastern side of David Low Way to the western side. The public notification phase ended on 11 August 2006. Development Watch Inc objected to this application on social, economic, environmental and procedural grounds.
