NEWS and COMMENTARY

Development Watch is hosting the Sunshine Coast Symphonic Orchestra's presentation, "Symphony by the Sea", on Saturday, 16th August, 2:00PM at the Coolum Civic Centre. The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra, now performing its 35th concert season, is committed to bringing light classical music to the people of the Sunshine Coast. It is an enthusiastic group of 40 musicians whose backgrounds range from professional to semi-professional and highly skilled adult amateur musicians drawn from the community of the Sunshine Coast area. The programme will be based on classical music used as themes for movies and stage shows.

INCORPORATION

Development Watch is now an incorporated body. We started as a sub-committee of the Mount Coolum Residents Association Inc, whose membership recently voted to change the Association name to Development Watch. The Objects were also changed to reflect our role of monitoring developments throughout the Coolum area. In addition, membership is no longer restricted to residents of Mount Coolum.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of Development Watch is open to any individual who supports the aims of our association. We need not only passive members who can provide financial support but also active members who can offer assistance or expertise. We particularly need members who have knowledge in the following fields - town planning, hydrology, architecture, building, civil engineering, law, ecology. This list is by no means exhaustive and any assistance will be gratefully received.

An application form for membership can be downloaded from the *JOIN US* link. Feel free to print out an extra copy and pass it on to a friend. If you don't know any members to propose and second your application, call our Treasurer, Fran Anderson, on 07 5446 6743 and Fran will make the appropriate arrangements. Or, you can bring your application form along to our next meeting.

MEETINGS

We hold regular monthly meetings to which both members and visitors are welcome. They are held at the Coolum Civic Centre on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.

OUR WEB SITE

We are constantly developing our web site to publicize the goals and activities of Development Watch. The former domain www.developmentwatch.info has now been superseded by the current one. Please don't forget to update your bookmarks.
